All in her name

Eddie Vedder’s words:-

It’s very rare for a relationship to withstand the Earth’s gravitational pull and where it’s going to take people and how they’re going to grow. I’ve heard it said that you can’t really have a true love unless it was a love unrequited. It’s a harsh one, because then your truest one is the one you can’t have forever.

And so, for the last time, I entered the premises of the “Radha Krishna Mandir” in my home town few years back. I arrived late on purpose for a little get-together of past friends. She was there in the garden posing for photographs with her girl friends. I said hello to my own little circle of friends. I kept away from the girls to keep my distance from her. The dilemma of a broken heart.

I looked and stared at the girl I had come to love when she was not watching in the premises of a temple built in the worship of Lord Krishna or maybe in celebration of the childhood romance between Radha and Krishna. In celebration of a love lost. And in that place I stared at the love I could never have. I will always be her biggest fan.

And yet when the devotees today pray, they give Radha a place before the Lord’s name.

On their final goodbye, “All in your name Radha“, Krishna must have said.
