Nymphet and Madonna
Migom Pegu

She had hidden behind the shield of adolescence,
Her wicked vanity.
As she played ‘La Belle Dam sans Merci’,
With innocent audacity.
She was a royal cuteness,
In her tender youth,
Such that she provoked un-numbered attention.
She was the foxy enchantress,
Both nymphet and Madonna,
She wove webs of teasing in every admirer’s direction.
She met today a man with eyes of calmest wise.
She knew he had many a moon seen her kind -
The act of Lolita and smeared mascara eyes.
She kissed him, and let her tongue slither again in quiet -
What tragedy made a man wiser by his age twice?
